ODB: a Son Unique

Ol Dirty Bastard from the Wu Tang Clan, is one of the most colourful characters in the history of Hip Hop. He captivated fans with his unique style, his chaotic persona and unforgettably wild antics. In the press, he was portrayed as a prankster and a clown. But now, nearly two decades since ODB’s passing, filmmaker and photographer Khalik Allah is on a mission to find the real ODB. Through conversations with Raekwon, Dirty’s Brother Ramsey Jones, A&R legend Dante Ross, collaborator and confidant Buddha Monk and others who knew his multitudes, Khalik shines a light on his struggles and vision. This is more than the story of one enigmatic rapper, it’s the story of the gap between how America sees its black men and who they truly are.
